Jewellery care

Two lines, two different metals underneath — so they want two different habits. Every product page names the material for that piece.

Western Edit — 304 stainless steel under 18K gold plating

  • Water, sweat and daily wear are fine. You can keep it on.
  • Spray perfume before you put it on, not after.
  • Wipe it with a dry cloth when you take it off.
  • Store pieces separately so they don't scratch each other.

Ethnic Riwayaat and The Bridal Edit — brass and alloy under an antique gold polish

  • Keep these away from water, perfume and lotion. The polish is what dulls first.
  • Wipe with a dry cloth after wearing, and let the piece dry fully before putting it away.
  • Give each piece its own pouch or zip bag. Open air is what tarnishes brass.
  • Put jewellery on last when you dress, and take it off first at night.

Stones, pearls and enamel

  • Hand-set kundan, polki-style crystals and cubic zirconia are glued or bezel-set. Don't soak them — water loosens the setting over time.
  • Faux and shell pearls scratch easily. Keep them away from anything with a hard edge.
  • Meenakari enamel chips on impact. Lay these flat rather than dropping them into a box.

What not to use

No toothpaste, no baking soda, no ultrasonic cleaner, no silver dip. These strip plating and dull enamel. A dry, soft cloth is all a plated piece needs.
